A new energy label to see things more clearly

Before detailing what changes with the new energy label, let's recall what it is.

What is the energy label?

The European energy label comes in the form of a sheet that accompanies electrical appliances and lamps to help consumers identify the most energy-efficient products. There are several energy labels, each adapted to the device it accompanies.

Why a new energy label?

With the major technological and regulatory developments of recent years, new energy classes (A+, A++ and A+++) have been created to support ever more efficient appliances. Designed by the European Union, the new energy label rescales the classification of appliances to make it more readable and anticipate future performance. And yes, manufacturers, like ALUMINOR , will continue their innovations to further improve the performance of the devices put on the market! It's great for saving energy and great for the planet!

When will this new energy label be available?

Since March 2021, several product categories have been affected by the implementation of this new energy label: refrigerators, freezers, wine storage appliances, dishwashers, washing machines, washer dryers, televisions and monitors.

On September 1 , 2021, it will be the turn of the lights .

What changes on the new energy label:

Goodbye +++

Classes A+, A++ and A+++ disappear in favor of a more readable scale from A to G.

The current class A+++ will probably correspond to classes B or C of the new energy label depending on the product categories.

Indeed, no device currently on sale will be classified A on this new scale in order to stimulate technological progress and to be able to classify on this same label future products which will be even more economical than those of today!

Consequently, the same product is classified differently on the new energy label but its actual performance is the same.

ALUMINOR advice: to choose a high-performance luminaire, do not rely solely on the number of WATTs indicated. It is the ratio number of LUMEN (quantity of light provided) divided by the number of WATT (quantity of energy consumed) that tells you the energy performance of a light!

At ALUMINOR , you will find high-performance luminaires.

Floor lamps: ZEN LED and EDEN LED classified E with the criteria of the new energy label (A+ with those of the old one) and a LUMEN / WATT ratio of 123.7.

Wall lights: OMEGA classified F with the criteria of the new energy label (A+ with those of the old one) and a LUMEN / WATT ratio of 100.

Desk lamps: GALAXY and LORA classified G with the criteria of the new energy label (A+ with those of the old one) and a LUMEN / WATT ratio of 82.

Table lamps: LUXI LT classified G with the criteria of the new energy label (A+ with those of the old one) and a LUMEN/WATT ratio of 82.

ALUMINOR will offer by September, several luminaires and in particular street lamps close to the 190 LUMEN/WATT ratio, allowing them to access energy efficiency class B.
