ALUMINOR informs and advises you on choosing the right bulb:

What is a Lumen?

The Lumen is the unit that measures the intensity of lighting . Simply put, Lumen measures the total amount of light emitted by a bulb .

Our advices :

For main lighting in a living room, dining room, hallway, we recommend approximately 100 Lumens per m² .

For main lighting in a kitchen or bathroom, we recommend 300 Lumens per m² .

The number of Lumens you choose for your bulbs (or your lights equipped with a light source) allows you to adapt the intensity of the lighting according to your activities and create the atmosphere you want in each room of your house.

Warning: many people still think that Watts measure the intensity of lighting, imagining that the higher the number of Watts, the greater the quantity of light emitted. But that's incorrect. Watts measure the amount of energy consumed by the bulb, not the amount of light emitted.

What is a Kelvin?

The Kelvin measures the color of light. The higher the amount of Kelvin , the "colder" and whiter the light. The lower the amount of Kelvin , the “warmer” and yellower the light .

The color temperature of the bulbs ranges between 2700 and 6500 Kelvin.

Our advices :

For an office, a workshop or any place where you need concentration, we advise you to choose bulbs (or light fixtures equipped with light source) of more than 5300 Kelvin to boost your concentration.

For a kitchen or a bathroom , places where you need "functional" lighting, we advise you to choose bulbs (or luminaires equipped with a light source) between 3300 and 5300 Kelvin . They provide a fairly neutral white light , perfect for this type of room.

For a living room, a bedroom Or a relaxation area , we advise you to opt for bulbs (or lights equipped with a light source) from 2700 to 3000 Kelvins . This kind of light evokes the natural light of a sunset for example and will have a relaxing effect conducive to relaxation.
